South West Regional Chamber of Commerce  is a dynamic organization dedicated to supporting local businesses, fostering economic growth, and enhancing community engagement. We provide networking opportunities, business resources, and advocacy to strengthen our local economy.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to assist with various chamber activities, including event planning, marketing, communications, and member engagement. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business development, community relations, and nonprofit administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing chamber events, networking meetings, and workshops.
  • Support marketing efforts, including social media management, newsletter creation, and website updates.
  • Conduct research on local businesses, economic trends, and policy initiatives.
  • Engage with chamber members and respond to inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
  • Help maintain and update membership databases and contact lists.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as document preparation, data entry, and office support.
  • Represent the chamber at community events and outreach programs.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Community Development, Communications or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for supporting local businesses and community development.
