About Southwood Children’s Behavioral Healthcare:
Southwood Psychiatric Hospital provides comprehensive, age-appropriate care to children and adolescents whose lives have been impacted by a broad scope of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and cognitive challenges.
To ensure that each young person receives the focused treatment that they need in the environment that is best suited to them, our mental health hospital near Pittsburgh, PA, offers the following four programs:
- Acute inpatient program: All genders ages 4-18
- CHOICES residential program: Males ages 10-18
- Intellectual developmental disability/autism spectrum disorder (IDD/ASD) residential program: Males ages 6-21
- Family-based mental health services (FBMHS) program: All genders ages 3-18
Treatment at Southwood features an array of customized therapeutic interventions. All adolescents follow a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals. Your child’s personalized plan will be monitored throughout their time with us, and we will update the plan as necessary to ensure they are receiving maximum benefit from our inpatient care services or residential programming.
When you choose Southwood, your child’s personalized care will be provided by a dedicated team of experienced professionals. Every member of the Southwood team is committed to providing superior services within a safe and highly supportive environment.

Rise: Horses with Hope
Chamber Networking Volunteers will help provide high-quality and safe
therapeutic riding and equine-assisted learning programs,
helping participants achieve success. They will also tour the grounds
and learn about more ways that they can help Horses with Hope.

One group of six will work will volunteer with the horses and students for one hour while the other six are able to tour the grounds and learn more about Horses with Hope. At the end of the hour the volunteers will switch.

RISE: Networking for a Cause
The South West Communities Chamber of Commerce is making it its mission to help those in need through the launch of their brand new networking series RISE: Networking for a Cause. RISE works with local non-profit members of the chamber to help not only bring awareness to their causes, but also to offer assistance to non-profits through interactive member networking.
For the first South West Communities Chamber of Commerce RISE event, chamber members will join a Dress for Success Mobile Unit at a local sober living house and assist them in clothing and dressing residents for re-introduction into the workforce. Space is limited to 6 max participants.
Rise: Networking for a Cause launches on February 6th, 2020. Members can register for free through the chambers website. Non-Members will also be able to participate in the RISE series through a donation made to the participating non-profit.

This coming August, the South West Communities Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Collier Township Square Takeover!!!! Members and Guests will use clues and their detective skills to maneuver their way to different businesses in Collier Township Square on August 23rd. Teams who complete the business-to-business passport will unlock awards and prizes once their “hunt” is complete.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. at Walnut Grill where registration will be taken, passports will be distributed and the rules will be recited. Everyone must be back with completed passports by 8 p.m.. Each participating business will have either a drink and food special or a special activity taking place at their location.
Come and test your detective skills and participate in the first ever South West Communities Chamber Scavenger Hunt!
